One Pieces for Fall / Styling Ideas

wearing: blue overalls, black off the shoulder top, Falabella chain bag, black loafers
wearing: black overalls, mesh bodysuit, black loafers, round glassesprinted chain bag
wearing: ASOS jumpsuit, Gucci loafers
Overalls and jumpsuits are great for fall- they're super easy to style because they're almost an outfit by themselves, plus they work for almost any occasion. Here are a few outfits I've worn recently with my favorite one pieces, as well as some styling ideas below. I really love pairing them with my favorite shoes of the moment, the Gucci horsebit loafers (more affordable version of the loafers here).

My most worn pair of overalls, a black button up pair, have sadly sold out- but I recently found an almost identical version on Boohoo.com for a lot less! Here are some ways I'd style them for fall.

F/W Bags

You don’t always need to spend $1,000+ have a nice designer bag! Here are 6 of my favorite fall bags that look just as luxurious as the Guccis, Givenchys, and YSLs. They’re all neutral so they’re super easy to style with everyday looks, as well as all black going out outfits.

Summer Dresses

Short summer dresses paired with tough ankle boots has been my go-to outfit for these last few weeks of August. They balance each other out and end up making for a cool, relaxed street style outfit. The best part about these dresses is that they can be transitioned easily into fall outfits just by adding tights or over the knee boots and a moto jacket

Everyday Breakfast

Even though these recipes are simple- I have a surprising amount of questions about what food I eat on my tumblr, I so I am going to share them anyway! This one is a staple for me, I look forward to it every morning. When I first started college I would skip breakfast, or have a small granola bar- I thought it was a good way to save time, but I later realized that it took a toll on my energy levels throughout the day.

The old adage about breakfast being the most important meal of the day is true; I eat a lot in the mornings and afternoons to keep me going. Unlike cereal, oats fill me up for a long time and they don't have any added unnatural sugars. I'd definitely recommend trying this out if you haven't, it always puts me in a great mood for the morning.

- combine 3/4 cup of rolled oats + 3/4 cup water in the oven for 15 minutes at 350
- mix in a tablespoon of agave to sweeten
- add one chopped banana + one cup of berries on top
- add two cups of milk (I use unsweetened almond milk because the fruit and agave are already very sweet)

....and that's it- hope this helps!

Hello Fall // my favorite everyday black jeans

I know it's only August, but I'm so tired of summer outfits.. let's just pretend it's fall. Autumn / Winter is my favorite time of year, especially when it comes to fashion. I love boots, coats, jeans, and jackets. For this post, I wanted to put together a couple of my favorite staple A/W items along with sharing my favorite jeans at the moment.

I live in black denim day to day- it's almost a uniform at this point. Until last year, my favorite pair was the Rag&Bone legging jeans. They're super high rise, have the right amount of stretch, and don't fade over time like most black jeans. The only downside to them is the price-point; I wanted to find a pair with the same attributes from a more affordable brand.

On a whim I picked up a pair of the H&M shaping skinny jeans- I didn't expect them to be amazing because they're only $50, but I was pleasantly surprised! They're the same flattering high rise style as my R&B pair, super fitted, and are still jet black after probably 20+ washes. They look great for everyday t-shirt and sneaker outfits, and are great to tuck into over-the-knee boots because they're fitted all the way to the ankle.

Sunday Treats // Peanut Butter Chocolate Nicecream

During the work week I am quite strict about what I eat- having a plan always makes me feel more prepared to tackle my tasks for the day, plus preparing meals at home saves a lot of time and money. I always look forward to Sunday mornings because I'm much more lenient on what I can eat; I have plenty of time to experiment, plus it's my one day where I don't care about making a mess and spending a little extra.

After talking with everyone on Tumblr (link to my blog here), I realized how much we can all learn from each other when it comes to health- I thought I'd share my recipes / experiments on here! I am new to being a vegetarian, I've only been at it since the beginning of 2017 so I'm always up for new recipes and tips.

This specific vegan ice cream or "nice cream" was introduced to me by my friend Sloane; along with being a vegan, she's super savvy when it comes to fashion- check her blog out here! I was inspired to try out this recipe and I absolutely love it. It's super easy to make and definitely satisfies any sugar cravings. Enjoy! xx Flo

1. combine the pb2 powder with almond milk to make a peanut butter mix
(I prefer this to regular peanut butter because it cuts out a lot of the extra fat)

2. put the mix and 2 1/2 of the frozen bananas in the
blender and blend until it's creamy

3. chop up the last 1/2 banana, a cup of blueberries, chia seeds,
and some honey (** to make it fully vegan, substitute honey with agave sweetener) to top it all off!

AllSaints Huntington Beach Collection

This post is a special one; if you know me you know how much I love AllSaints! It's always difficult for me to describe my style in a few words, but the ones I always go back to are minimal and classic- and AllSaints embodies what I love from both. I was so happy when they reached out to me to style a piece from their new Huntington Beach Collection.

I chose this cropped moto jacket because if its versatility and timeless design. I wore it with a pretty casual outfit but you could easily dress it up by throwing it over a mini dress and heels for a night out. It has a detachable hoodie as well, but I'll probably have to wear an actual hoodie underneath (because... Boston).

LIT Boutique Summer Styling

This month I met the stylists at LIT boutique and we put together some outfits from their current summer collection! I love working with Boston based companies- the city affects my style a lot and it's good to be around people on a similar wavelength. LIT has a few locations in the area (my favorite being their Newbury Street store), but they also sell pieces through their online shop. Here are some of my favorite items!

I also spoke with LIT's owner, Lisa Shah, about the company and her process of choosing brands to feature in their boutiques. Enjoy!

What do you look for when choosing LIT's brands?

Style, price, fit, fabrication. In that order.  Stylistically, it has to be forward and wearable. We are extremely price focused. We want the best value products in our stores. Fit is everything and we are always looking for innovative modern fabrics that is breathable, washable, wearable.

If you had to describe the LIT style in 3 words, what would they be?

Modern, Center-of-Attention, Value

Which LIT pieces are you most excited about for summer?

Tassels and Pom Poms! Summer 2017 has been so fun and colorful! I love how all of our designers have incorporated pom poms and tassel in chic and sophisticated ways. From our new obsession Pitusa to classic favorite Gorjana, pom poms and tassels have added LIFE into our summer wardrobe staples.

Describe the benefit of shopping from a curated boutique versus an regular chain store.

We curate our stores specifically for our customers needs.  As a small local business and us (owners) living right in Boston, we are more in tuned to local trends and events heavily which impact shopping needs of our customers. Being in our locations for more than a decade and really listening to our customers. We anticipate our customer's needs and mood better than them. We know where they are going and how they want to look when they go there.

Looking forward, what trends can we expect to find at LIT in the fall?

Velvet and patent leather makes Fall2017 our boldest season! Deep rich tones of patent leather in terms of pants, skirts, boots paired with rich velvet and unique suiting blouses. Faux fur will line the coolest denim jackets so it can be worn well into winter. Over the knee boots will continue to be a must have fall-staple and we will have great selection. Vintage denim and unique denim treatment will dominate casual wear. Layering looks (sweater over poplin shirt dress) will be made easier by innovative designers. Lace and ruffles provide a feminine contrast to patent leather and men suiting inspirations. Fall is my favorite season. Can not wait to share!

Indroduction to Faithful Jeans

A post shared by @florencia95 on
When my friend Kat first told me about her idea for Faithful Jeans, I was thrilled. From running my tumblr blog, I know how in demand redone denim is at the moment, and I couldn't wait to share the good news with everyone! Now that the brand has been around for a bit, I wanted to put together a post introducing them to you guys and give them a chance to share their mission statement.

If you follow my tumblr or instagram pages you've probably seen me wearing multiple different Faithful Jeans designs out and about- I absolutely love every single item. The attention to detail and sizing that Kat and Estefania have put into the pieces makes wearing them feel like a tailored and personalized experience.

along with my outfit photos, here are some more ways I'd style my favorite Faithful pieces!

To get a look inside the brands beginnings & process, I spoke with Kat and Estefania (Faithful Jean's founders) about the brand... enjoy! xx Flo

Tell me the story of how you and Estefania met and how Faithful came about!

"Estefania and I met through our job in retail. We quickly became very close. It was one day in February that I had on a pair of jeans that I had cut up and Estefania asked me about them. She actually posed the idea of starting a company right then and there! I knew when I went home and couldn't stop thinking about the idea that we had to do it. We both are such passionate, creative optimists that we knew that this wasn't just a project, it was a mission to make the world better. Everything we do, we do with hope, love and most of all, faith. We spent a little over 4 months dreaming and planning, cutting and sewing until we were ready to launch Faithful Jeans and Co." -Kat

What do you two look in a pair of jeans when you're thrifting for the brand?
"When we go thrifting, we look for the best of the best. We love Levi's and Calvin's as our favorite finds. We choose each piece because of the color, shade of denim, how much wear and especially the fit of the pants. We strive for quality always and we always take into account how they will look on the human body!" -Kat

Describe the creative process, and the challenges you come across when creating a pair of jeans.

"The creative process for us is intense. Both of us are constantly watching the trends and what is happening in the denim market. We each have thousands of ideas, but for each pair it is a very specific design created because of the style of the pant. Each one we have put our blood, sweat and tears into and they take hours! We see the process as therapeutic, one that makes each piece very close to our hearts. The challenges we face can vary... sometimes the denim is really tough cotton, or sometimes it's too soft! Our main concern is always fit and durability! We want these to be forever perfect!" -Kat

What brands or people influence or inspire you?

"Denim for both of us is a huge staple in our closets. We love hot brands like Grlfrnd Denim, 3X1, and Redone denim for inspiration! We also base so much of the vibe of who we are in the root of the jeans. We adore the images of denim bombshells like Jane Birkin and Cindy Crawford to give us inspiration." -Kat

How do you want someone wearing Faithful to feel?

"We want our girls to feel confident, beautiful and unstoppable. These jeans have such an incredible story when they finally reach their new owner. We want our customer to wear them when she does something that thrills her, that challenges her, and most of all, we want her to wear them when she is happy!" -Kat

If you could dress one person in the brand, who would it be?

"We have so many inspirational women on our list who we would love to dress. Among them, Olivia Palermo, Chiara Ferragni, Zendaya, Jenna Lyons... the list is endless!" -Kat

Explain why vintage denim is so unique and special to you.
"Vintage denim is timeless. We love that each pair has a history and has been loved before! Each pair is so unique for that reason. Beyond that, it is a sustainable, re-useable material and is better for our society in so many ways." -Kat

If you had to pick, which Faithful piece are you most proud of?

"I adore the Levi's with the pearl detailed cuff! So simple and elegant." -Kat
"I love the designs we have done with the stars!" -Estefania
