Western Inspiration

topshop crop top (s/o) similar top here

Large western-inspired buckles have been reintroduced to the fashion world, most notably by Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent Paris. I love how these belts can add some unexpected rockstar vibes to an other wise plain outfit, I can't wait to wear my vintage belt through the summer and upcoming seasons.

The best part of vintage finds is that each piece is completely unique, and you can wear it knowing that no one else has the same thing. I'd say check out your local thrift shops to find something that you love! There are always unexpected treasures :)

Patchwork denim is a huge trend right now, and although it's a little out of my comfort zone I thought I'd try it! This pair from H&M fit great and I love the variety of size in the patches, it gives the jeans a very unique look. I kept the rest of my outfit simple with a white tee and classic leather belt, and dressed it up a little by wearing my Diesel Black Gold oxfords instead of my regular sneakers.

Fall 2015 // Favorites

Fall is my favorite season for fashion, and the trend forecasts for this year have got me completely ecstatic! I've narrowed down all of the new trends I've seen lately to 6.. all of them I am definitely going to try this fall. Duster coats are huge right now and I can only see them becoming more popular when autumn rolls around. They're the perfect mix between a light jacket and a trench coat, and can be dressed up with coated pants and heels or dressed down with ripped jeans and sneakers. Mini skirts (especially button up mini skirts) are so easy to style and complete any simple daytime outfit. I'm excited to wear my vintage Calvin Klein button front skirt with boots, sneakers, and maybe flats. The next trend, backpacks, is one that I never thought I'd be blogging about. Of course I have owned backpacks in the past (mostly for school) but I never thought of them as a 'fashionable' item. My outlook did a 180 when Stella McCartney released her Falabella backpacks, they're a must have.

Street style is what I love most about fashion, and over-the-knee boots are one way to amp up your street style game completely. They make any outfit 100 times more chic (and make your legs look miles long, that's always a plus). Of course Stewart Weitzman is the king of these boots, but I'm predicting that all the high street stores (Zara, Topshop, Forever 21, Mango etc) will be getting on board this season and offering many affordable over-the-knee options. Continuing with shoes, I promised myself to stray away from the sneakers-everyday habit I've created. Don't get me wrong, I will definitely be wearing my Adidas Superstars and Supergas this fall, but I'm also loving lace up flats and oxfords. They can instantly turn a blah / casual outfit into a sophisticated street style look.

Lastly, what would everyday style be without denim!? Buying jeans is one of the hardest parts of shopping... styles and inseams and sizes (oh my!). Finding the perfect pair can feel impossible but so rewarding when you do. This season I'm all about ripped up denim, frayed ankles, zipper and moto detailing and grey washes. When you're completely out of outfit ideas,  remember: you can't go wrong wearing a pair of good jeans and a t-shirt.

Here are some options for these pieces! I hope you guys like
them, and tell me what your fall must-haves are! :)

Zara Semi Annual Sale / New-ins and Picks

Hey guys! Zara's big sale started this month and I ordered a few things for the fall season! I'm sure I'll be wearing them before then but I promised myself: no more summer pieces. Zara is one of my favorite stores and to buy clothes from, especially jeans. Their denim is always following the current styles of brands like Saint Laurent and Rag & Bone, and of course they have a much more reachable price point.

This white jumper caught my eye the second I saw it; I love chunky knits with round collars and cuffs. Acne Studios carried a similar one in the fall collection last year, so I'm happy to have a piece of that trend.

Here are some of my picks that I didn't end up ordering (but still love)!

White sneakers have always been a weakness of mine; no matter how many pairs I acquire, there is always another one out there calling my name. In my defense, this pair is special because of the dark details (a trait that my other white sneakers lack). Thanks to Pharell and countless fashion-influencers, the Adidas / Adidas Superstar brand is back and better than ever. I am still not completely on board with the Stan Smith line but the Superstars are definitely my style.

As the weather warms up I have been keeping my outfits extra simple. I got this white mini bag recently and I love how effortless and light it is. Many of my summer pieces are sporty / tomboy-influenced, and I'd like to think a small dainty bag balances out my outfits.

This week I'm going off to the beach with my family and I'll make sure to take plenty of photos while I'm out there! I hope you guys are enjoying your week :)
