Spring Picks: Marc Jacobs Mini Bag

The mini bags have been taking over lately, and I am definitely on board (I might have to get a smaller wallet though). They're perfect for going out on care-free warm days when all you need are the necessities. A specific style of mini bags that are huge right now are bucket bags, and MBMJ has perfected these two trends into one lovely little hold-a-little called the Too Hot To Handle. This bag is high up on my list of Spring must haves.. the nude color matches perfectly with spring pieces and is a fun change from the giant black bags everyone totes around in the cold months.

Spring Picks: Gola x Liberty

Hello everyone! Today the sun came out and it reminded me how excited I am for springtime. I can't wait until school starts winding down and I can go explore the city without the fear of the elements. In anticipation of this season, I decided to start a little blogging series called "spring picks". I'll be choosing my favorite items that I think would make for a killer spring wardrobe (and styling them too)! I really hope you like them, and I promise I'll carefully select all the best things.

My first pick of this series is the backpacks from the Gola x Liberty collection at ASOS. I love when two brands come together and merge their styles into one awesome product. The girly floral print mixed with a casual rucksack is a perfect piece for spring.

spring backpack contents

Here is how I would fill my backpack for some weekend fun:water bottle: have to stay hydrated people!
  • a good book or a journal: keeping track of your ideas is so important, don't forget it.
  • tiger phone case: admittedly not a necessity (but still very cute)
  • kind bars: stay full throughout the day!
  • sunnies: block those UVs in style
and here are some ways to style these awesome bags! Hope you like them and
enjoy these posts :) cheers xx Flo

Oh Boy.

I think I caught the designer bag bug while at NYFW. Obviously spending most of my time in school hallways and classrooms I don't see that many people walking around in stilettos and a Chanel bag on their arm... so the outfits at Lincoln Center were all so refreshing to me.

One specific bag that I have been noticing as a blogger trend is the Chanel Boy Bag:

It's a really fresh re-invention of the classic quilted Chanel bag, and I can't get enough of it. It's a staple piece that can give even a simple outfit some extra style points. Here are some ways I've thought of to style the mini black one!

Gabby and Flo adventures!

As you may already know from my instagram / blogging overload, I was in NYC last week for NYFW! I've been so busy trying to keep up with everything that I haven't been able to share all of the photos I took. I'm really happy with them (especially these) so I decided it's better late than never, right!?

These were all taken after Gabby and I left MILK studios for the Costello Tagliapierta show. Her outfit was seriously amazing and I'm so happy we have a few photos of us together as well! She was wearing a swimsuit (believe it or not) with a statement necklace and beanie. Props to the street style photographer who took the photo of both of us!

All about Spring

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a good week and keeping up with all the awesome goings-on in London at the moment.

This week I have been especially interested in creating the perfect spring wardrobe. Spring is the perfect time to add some colorful pieces to your outfits and to try out some fun trends.. so here are some tips I've come up with for getting the most out of your spring picks!

tips for a spring wardrobe!

Here is a little map of how I'd like to think my spring wardrobe will look like. My favorite pieces would definitely be a LWD (little white dress?), a good pair of Chelsea boots (currently very emotional about these by Opening Ceremony) and a tan fedora.

Here are some ways I'd style these items:

Chelsea Boots
These boots are almost an outfit by themselves, so I kept the rest of it pretty simple. I've always had a thing for all-white pairings, something about them is so romantic and sweet! To give this outfit a little edge I added my favorite bag of the moment, the A. Wang Rocco.

Tan Fedora
This hat by Salsit is perfect to throw on with any spring outfit. I love a pop of print, especially the one on this bag from Madewell.

Little White Dress
These are the underrated wardrobe staple to me! I think they look amazing with any light jacket and boots. Add a pair of sunnies with gold details for a great spring-day look.

I'm Blue (I gave my blog a make-over)!

Hey everyone! Notice anything different?

If the title of this post didn't already give it away, I re-designed my blog! Hooray for fresh ideas :) Although I've been an all-black downer for the last year, I am slowly starting to like color again. The color steel blue is my favorite at the moment, and I've been lusting over this Zara bag for weeks..

The dreary part of winter is here, so of course I'm getting excited for it to be warm out again. To accompany my "new" blog theme, here are some outfits with my favorite colorfully blue pieces. xx Flo

Nicole Miller

The Nicole Miller show was full of amazing prints and textures. Each look was a balance of masculine and feminine, with short tweed skirts paired with oversized embellished crewneck sweatshirts. A huge trend from this show was feathered skirts. Along with a pair of black boots, I think a feathered skirt would be a great piece to try this season!

Off-duty wear: NYFW day 3

This morning the polyvore girls and I went to breakfast with bloggers Natalie Suarez and Dylan Suarez! They're so nice and fun to talk to, and they even took us to see the Rebecca Taylor show afterwards. My outfit was pretty casual, hope you like it :)

Nicholas K inspired outfit: NYFW day 2

Today my fellow Polyvore comminty correspondent Gabby and I took some photos at Lincoln Center. We were there to see the Rebecca Minkoff show, but stayed around a bit to street-style watch.

While I was choosing my outfit for today, I was thinking about the Nicholas K show I'd seen. Lately I've been loving the navy + black trend, but this show stepped it up to a whole new level. I decided to try and mimic some of their looks with my NYFW-going outit, so here it is!

I opted for a navy high neck jumper from Zara, a grey coat from H&M, leather shorts from MINK PINK and my black/ white cutout shoes from Topshop.

Rebecca Minkoff

Today was my second day in NYC as a Polyvore community correspondent, I'm having a blast! The first show we all went to was Rebecca Minkoff. It was in a huge venue and star studded (with celebs from Carrie Underwood and Anna Kendrick to Anna-Sophia Robb). The show featured Rebecca Minkoff's signautre mini-bags, this time with fun silver details and hanging pouches. My favorite trend from the show was the color cobalt blue which appeared in the form of scarves and oversized coats.

Here is how I'd translate the Rebecca Minkoff look into every-day wear:
Wear an oversized boyfriend coat in blue with leather joggers, and add her pop of metallic silver with some cutout booties. The collection also featured some fantastic furry beanies, so I'd add a similar cream one from Topshop to the look. Lastly, add some red lips and you'll look fresh off the RM runway!

NYFW Outfit: Day 1

What a day it's been! Everything is happening so fast but I love being in NYC.  I've been so psyched to report the trends here back to the Polyvore as a community correspondent. Today I went to the Nicholas K + BCBG shows at Lincoln Center, and the Costello Tagliapietra show at MILK studios. To see my reviews of the shows, check here. I've never been to NYFW before so seeing shows for the first time is so intriguing and so much to take in! For my outfit, I opted for a burgundy coat a floppy fedora. I hope you like the post and keep up with me (and my celeb sightings) on this blog and instagram! xxx

Nicholas K

This morning we went to the first shows of fashion week! I've already seen some familiar faces (including Danielle Bernstein ahhhh)!

This first one of the day was Nicholas K show at Lincoln center. The collection was full of fur details and a navy + black color scheme. I loved how each look had a distinctive tough attitude, and the pieces were so simple. Another trend in the Nicholas K show was mixed washes of denim, which was used in the form of this amazing jumpsuit!

Help me pack!

If you don't already know, I'm going off to NYC for fashion week in a few days! I'll be one of the Polyvore community correspondents (along with Gabrielle), updating on the latest trends and all things fashion. Thanks to many of my fellow polyvore lovers, I've been getting loads of packing ideas. I thought I'd share them with you guys because they've given me a lot of inspiration, and are just lovely to look at.

... and if you're on Polyvore, be sure to enter this contest before it ends! I'd love to
see what you think we should bring :) xx Flo
